Singapore Garden Festival 2012

Hendrik, Lola and I spent an afternoon at the Singapore Garden Festival 2012. The Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) is said to be Asia’s best garden and flower show where it showcases the creations of local as well as the world’s award-winning garden and floral designers under one roof. The displays are spread over 2 hectares comprising Levels 4 & 6 of the Suntec Convention Center. The SGF is a feast for the eyes on the stunning garden creations, landscape ideas, Asia’s finest orchids, and a whole lot more. As it officially opened last Saturday, 07 July, we thought it would be a good idea to visit as soon as possible while the flowers and plants are still at its best.

Level 6 welcomed us with a Fairy Tale theme. Since Daddy, our official photographer was absent, I must say it was difficult for me to capture photos of Hendrik as he was always running around and moving from one place to another. It was difficult to make him still when being asked for a photograph with the background. The pictures here are the 'decent' shots that I managed to snap.

Level 4 was Lola’s delight - The Orchid Show. She was carefully examining and admiring the beauty of each particular orchid. She thought she had seen the most beautiful orchids back home in the Philippines, but very glad to know and see that there are still far more lovely species of orchids she hasn’t seen before until the visit.

Hendrik has a penchant for serene flowing water. You can expect that he would not miss to stop by and observe any display that has this element.

So many lovely things to see, yet so little time… We didn’t notice that we already spent 2 hours just leisurely walking around enjoying the very attractive displays before our eyes. We needed to go home as Lola and I cannot afford not to let Hendrik have his afternoon nap.
