Sunbeam Kindergarten Graduation cum Concert 2014

Last 18 October 2014 was Sunbeam Kindergarten’s year-end concert and at the same time K2 graduation ceremony. Students from pre-nursery to K2 participated in the school-produced musical entitled “The Gift”. Each of the students had their own parts – some sang, some acted, some danced, and some played musical instruments. Parents were proud and were just happy to see their kid(s) perform on stage. The year-end concert is one of the school events that being is being looked forward to by parents and family members alike. Hendrik sang the songs with actions together with the rest of the choir. He also played a few musical instruments (i.e. drum and resonator bells) throughout the concert.

One highlight of the musical was when Mary and Joseph were looking for a room in Jerusalem. Hendrik played the part of the inn keeper. As the inn keeper he told Mary and Joseph that there was no room for them at the inn. Later on, as Mary and Joseph kept looking for a room, Hendrik then told them that he had enough space for his animals, for Mary and Joseph as well as for the baby Jesus. Hendrik sang solo and also delivered his speaking part very well in this segment.

The K2 graduation ceremony was in the second part of the program.  Before the graduates were called onto the stage one by one, the rest of the students were also called individually to receive a token from the school for completing PN, N and K1. The K2 students donned their graduation togas and caps as they went to the stage one by one after their names have been called to receive their certificate of completion. The K2 graduating class also sang a Chinese song as their concluding performance.

Congratulations to Hendrik and to his K2 classmates who will be moving on to another phase in their education – primary school. Well done and God bless.

  1. Great post! Kindergarten program plays an important role for the children, as it helps them to grow emotionally, physically and mentally in a recommended way.
